Who we are
This website (kakaduguide.com.au) is an independent unofficial visitor guide. We do not publish a public contact email. See our contact page for official park channels and site expectations.
What we collect
This site does not run a third-party contact form, email-gated lead form, or public mailbox. We do not intentionally collect personal contact details through this website. We do not run a mailing list and we do not send marketing email.
The free Kakadu practical planner (HTML and PDF) is a direct download — no email is required to access either file. On-site search runs in your browser against a static page list; the query is not sent to us.
Server, fonts, weather & logs
Standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) may be collected by the hosting provider for security and operations. Page fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which is a Google service and may set its own cookies or logs under Google’s policies. The on-page weather strip calls the Open-Meteo forecast API from your browser (no account, no API key of ours). That is a model snapshot, not official BOM or Parks Australia advice. We do not currently run a named first-party analytics product on this site.
Advertising & affiliates
A Google AdSense publisher ID is not currently baked into this build, so the advertising script is not loaded. If ads are enabled later, Google and its partners can use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads. An ads.txt ownership file is published at the site root either way. Affiliate partners (Amazon Associates, Booking.com via Commission Junction, and GetYourGuide) may set cookies when you follow outbound stay, tour or gear links. See our affiliate disclosure.
Overseas processing
Some partners — including Google, Open-Meteo, and international booking or retail platforms — may process data outside Australia. Their privacy policies apply to those services. By using this site you acknowledge this handling where reasonably necessary for site operation and monetisation.
Your rights
We aim to handle any personal information we do hold in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Because this guide does not operate a public inbox or account system, routine visitor browsing typically does not create a customer profile on this site. We do not sell email addresses.
